Quick Update

For 4th of July we were in Wisconsin and I was playing in the "First Friday" event on 3rd July for the Ivanhoe pub, Racine.

This was a warm-up for the big Racine Independence day Parade on the Saturday. There were several musicians playing outside venues that evening. Our job was to get folks in the mood for the holiday weekend - and create a great "1st Friday" atmosphere. There were folks just strolling by, people having a drink at tables on the sidewalk, families sitting on the wall beside me, dancing on the grass behind me, bikers meeting up at biker places... and I met a lot of smokers.

It was a wee bit strange - I usually focus on the people inside the pub, there were even people who had heard me as they went in and wanted to come out to listen, but weren't allowed (with their drink) after 9pm - the different drink rules around the USA are amazing! Anyway - I played a fine few sets and enjoyed my 1st street gig.

You should watch the video I put together with clips taken from our travels - Check it out here !!!

So, we're back in the Pacific Northwest (just), I'm writing this from Moses Lake, Washington. It was a great trip through the highlands of Montana and Wyoming, stopping off at Yellowstone park which was amazing. We stumbled upon the Celtic Festival at Missoula - it was pretty good!

I have a lot of gigs lined up for the Summer - see the list below - it should give us plenty of time to get caught up again before we head off south again in late October.

What's new?

While we were in Montana, I got the chance to visit the Gibson acoustic guitar factory in Bozeman - it was a dream come true - I absolutely loved it. Seeing guitars being made, following the building process around the factory. Fantastic - the birthplace of my blond! ... and no, I didn't get a new one to keep me company!
